Home remodeling is an art and and the really good contractors in this industry know a lot of the trade secrets that keep them in business. A homeowner could try to save money by doing all the work himself, read tons of books, put a lot of man hours into it, and he still would not be able to come close to the job I have seen many Portland drywall and remodeling companies can do. Nothing beats experience and doing some a hundred times.
Here is a trick that I have seen some really good drywall remodeling companies do. I spoke with one of them and he reluctantly told me the process.
I am talking about adding color to your walls. Go into most people’s home and take a look at their walls. What color is it? White.
Why not change it up a little. You have to know what you are doing though because all of the textures, toppings, compounds, and plaster come in white. To change that up takes a little work.
How can you change the color?
Three common items you can use are
paints
cement coloring
food coloring
All you have to do is add a LITTLE bit of the previous items to your plaster when you are mixing your texture. It also helps with the whole drywall process because you can clearly see all the areas you have covered.
There is drywall spray texture that you can use as well and they usually come in different colors. You can just apply the spray and make whatever texture or color you want.
This is just one trick-of-the-trade a skilled and experienced Portland drywall contractor will utilize to totally transform your home.
Here is also a great resource you can use if you would like more information on finding drywall contractors. There are really experienced and talented guys out there who do fantastic work. You just have to look for them
